Under the Lights!

Night Fishing
The lake is beginning to
spring to life the last few days with rising water temperatures. I have
noticed much more activity around my pier on Lake Pontchartrain, so I
decided to crank up the lights last night for the first time this year. I
was glad I did! Using dead bait Carolina rigged I was able to catch
three drum, one nice keeper trout and three throwback trout in about an
hour last night. It was not a meat haul but it was very encouraging to
see trout under the lights. I think the fishing will pick up steadily
and the full moon later this month should be great - weather permitting.
My new boat that is being built is progressing along and should be
ready later this month. I am booking spring trophy trout trips in Lake
Pontchartrain and summer trout trips to Breton Sound out of Delacroix.
