Trout in Lake Pontchartrain!

Trout in Lake Pontchartrain
The spring trout have arrived
in the lake! On Monday evening I decided to give my back pier in the
Lake (Rats Nest Road) a try so I went to Dockside and picked up some
live shrimp. I went out about 6:00 p.m. and started fishing the live
shrimp on a Carolina rig. The trout immediately started to bite on
almost every cast! The third fish I caught was a 3 pounder! Most were
13'-15' with a few throw backs. I fished until about 8 p.m. and had 13
keeper trout. After the live shrimp were gone I switched over to dead
bait and still caught trout. I also caught 2 drum. The trout are now in
the lake and they are hungry. The full moon coming should be the
ticket for some wall hangers if the weather holds out. My boat is
almost ready for the water and I am booking trips in Lake Pontchartrain
in May and in Delacroix starting in June. Give me a call at (504)
458-8737 or check out my website at www.marshland-adventures.com. My trips start at $350.
